I've setup websites for a variety of companies based in the Central Coast (NSW-AUS) in the past few years. They are all small businesses often having started from scratch by the current business owner. I can relate to that well and I enjoy meeting people who are striking out on their own with a new business venture; it can be inspiring; it's an exciting time.

Anyone who doesn't have a website for their business is kidding themselves. When I first started building business websites in 2001 a lot of the time I had to convince the business owner of the merits of a website and many people were only just getting onto broadband.

It really is one of the most cost effective ways to promote a business. The results are measurable, you can calculate a fairly accurate Return On Investment (ROI) and if you need some more clients you increase your search engine advertising budget. Marketing a website in Google is like hunting with a sniper-rifle compared to traditional print based media. If you put an ad in a newspaper you get the same sort of effect as if you fired a shotgun into the air with your eyes closed hoping to hit a bird.
