Website hosting with us is a 'one size fits all' solution. There are no strict limits on what the websites we host use because we've not had anyone exceed 1.5GB (1500mb) of space on our servers and we build nearly all the websites we host we we aim to keep them efficiently sized.

Websites are on average less than 200mb even with hundreds of photos and PDF. The 'reasonable use' that I anticipate the majority of people to abide by for a standard allocation of server resources for $144/year AUD inc GST is as follows:

2.5GB of disk space

50GB of data transfer (sum total of up and download, ftp transfer not included)

MySQL databases as needed

I'd guess we are about medium priced in the market place. You can get cheaper and you can get more expensive. I price our hosting to take into account the support time required, helping people setup email accounts, troubleshooting any issues that arise and so on.
